CS-AHPS    Sodium 1-allyloxy-2-hydroxypropyl sulphonate

CS-AHPS is the sodium salt of an allyl ether sulphonate supplied as a 40% solution in water. When copolymerized into emulsion or aqueous solution polymers, CS-AHPS provides a source of bound sulphonate groups pendant to the backbone. When used in latex systems, the bound ionic charges provided by CS-AHPS are highly effective in stabilising the emulsion polymer particles both during polymerisation and during subsequent formulation into paints, adhesives and other products. Additionally, the need for conventional surfactants is reduced or eliminated, allowing improved water resistance and lower foaming products.
